Mango Taco + Weekend

Picture of Jalapeño Rock band, supporting love at the Hispanic Seafair Festival in Seattle Center!
This weekend was nice, and very busy! I stayed over at love's house this weekend since he had a gig today. On Saturday, we decided to drive to Capitol Hill for lunch, and then went to Uwajimaya for the Natsu Matsuri festival. It was a really small festival, as it was at the store, but it was crowded nonetheless! I took advantage of having gone to the festival and ended up going to the bookstore to start a subscription for Soul Sister, as well as order the 13th volume and to buy the Spring 2013 Egg's Room magazine. While at the festival, we saw the Taiko Drum event, and it was super cute! Afterwards, we headed home and I finished uploading the scans for Soul Sister 12, as well as tested love's scanner by trying to scan a couple of pages from Egg's Room. I'll probably end up scanning this issue soon too. Later that night, we watched a portion of Despicable Me, and got ready to drive back to Capitol Hill for a one-time midnight showing of The Dark Crystal -- We didn't get back until 2am (and I desperately wanted to listen to the 2am song by Slightly Stoopid).

Today, we spent the day at Seattle Center for Hispanic Seafair for love's gig with Jalapeño. We met up with his mother, his sister, and his sister's husband (and their two super cute doggies!) I always like to see love playing at a gig, because he's just so passionate about the music and he's super talented. I also really enjoy seeing him happy, and I think playing a gig is something that makes him happy without fail. Every time they play, I always want to get up and dance Urban Rock/Chilango Dance ... I have no way to explain it except it's probably really close to Skanking. After the gig, we went to an anniversary celebration at another one of his sister's homes. It was nice to see his family again, they're all super nice!

This entry turned out longer than originally planned, so I'll just leave this video here. I'm recently enamored by this song "Mango Taco" by Spanish-speaking musician, Caloncho. I'm not sure if this is the only song he's done in English, but I really like the melody, and the lyrics are...interesting.
